Last year was a shock for them and their fans. Especially in Mokyu’s case. It kept her out of senbatsu and pretty much settled her graduation (you’ll often find comments on 2ch saying that if fans fail their oshi in the elections she will graduate, in reference to Kanako).

But Yukko is the embodiment of resilience and I sure hope she gets reward for that.

Ahhh- thinking about results already makes me nervous. Better stop there for now~ (((( o°^°)o

SKE wota is amazing and such a TROLL, everyone is so impressed by sashi wota but im more impressed by SKE wota, making a girl who most people dont even know rank at #8 in prelim and more with umechan, makiko and others SKE theater girls ranking than some AKB popular members. I HOPE THEY MAINTAIN THEIR RANK especially MAKIKO and YUKKO

They sure did great, didn’t they?

And they even announced it on 2ch. They said they would make people remember Aya’s name and they did. She shared sports papers front page with Sasshi and was mention on TV, not to forget now all 48 wotas know who she is. The publicity she received thanks to those 12530 votes is tremendous.

Now I don’t realistically think she will maintain this position. Power votes are one thing, effective on the very short term, but top members can only rank that high by having a very large mass of fans sharing the cost of their “support” (though the dedication of said fans and their discipline is also certainly an important factor).

I wish all the girls who ranked yesterday will be called on stage on the 8th. I don’t want to witness another member going through what Mokyu went through last year. It was painful to witness and it must have been some of the longest hours she herself ever knew.

And let me be greedy but I also want NaoNan to make it in!

Let’s do our best to make it happen peeps! (/°^°)/

I was 17th

What is this I don’t even?＼(^o^)／

My mind froze…

To be honest I was shivering
when I saw the results backstage.

Last year I was 39th in the early results.

That’s too much of a leap…

And that’s not all,
votes figures are incredible too (;°Д°)

Of course I’m extremely grateful
and I’m delighted
but I strongly feel it’s not the time to
let it go to me (｀・ω・´)

Big changes are always possible,
nobody can tell what will happen
but this year my goal
is to rank 16th(｀・ω・´)

While it would be already good to keep this position
going just a bit higher
would be tremendously meaningful.

Of course I’m also extremely glad
lots of SKE members ranked in so far.

I’m especially happy for
my beloved Kaneko(｀;ω;´)

But elections are also
individual battles.

I have my own rivals,
so I need to keep fighting.

I’m not sure I’m the best
pick for the job,
but as a “honor kenkyusei for life”,
I want to be of use, even if just a little, to SKE KKS.

I want to launch a propaganda
so that people will get interested
in SKE KKS.

My feelings are the same
as last year(｀・ω・´)

I’ll give my best also
for the sake of other research students.

Everyone thank you so very much.
Of course I’m talking about… the elections early results where I ranked 48th.

It really took me by surprise.
I’ve calmed down now but when I heard about this result my hands started shaking and I felt lost, not knowing what I should do next.
When I informed my grand-mother she sounded like she was going to cry.
I couldn’t reach my mother yet though.

I’m so happy to have entered the early results that I’m tempted to say that’s already more than enough.
But this year I’m not facing this event with loose feeling, I don’t want things to stop here.
Calmy looking at the ranking, I realize there is a chance for drastic changes, for members to climb in the ranking and there is a real risk that I could drop until being outside ranking myself.
I think my feelings are the same as my fans’ ones. My anxiety compares to their joy and their own doubts.

Even if our feelings are one, fans never expressed their fears but told me, simply, to believe in them.
I was happy, seeing I had ranked 48 in the early results, but greed bloomed in my chest.
I want to go higher. That’s how I truly felt.
Things aren’t as easy this year as to grant to those who wish for it to simply keep their position.

Those words were probably unexpected from someone like me(´・ω・`)
But i wrote them nonetheless! (laugh)

Good morning.
Team E Furuhata Nao speaking.

Today were announced the early results for
the 5th General Elections

I was very happy to see many
SKE names rank in.

More than anything the fact that there were a lot of Team E members
made me genuinely happy.

But the fact that there were a single
5th generation name affected me.
Of course, my own name included.

It would have been nice to be able
to say “thank you for making me rank”,
but please forgive me.

Forgive me, I’m sorry,
those words are also difficult to
address to fans…

But at any rates, things are only seriously starting now.

Thinking about it, I grow excited.
Excited about the results on the final day.

Will my name be called,

First of all, I’m pleased to report that Seifuku no Me stage ended without accident despite having welcome first time members.

Today performing members all stranded together facing one same direction. It was a fulfilling stage.

Now before going any further I have to express you my gratitude for the early results.

When I heard them I was astonished..

I started hoping that maybe it would be possible but at the same time

I was scared to be hurt if that wasn’t the case, so I did my best not to think too much about it.

When I saw fans report on G+ “40th!”, I was speechless.

Tears wouldn’t stop when I myself went to ascertain the early results.

My vision was blurred, my hands shook violently, my heart wouldn’t stop beating,

wait, it would be a problem if it did stop no? (laugh)

I refreshed the page, to be sure it wasn’t an error.

But i don’t want to rejoice just yet.

This great joy I want to share it with those who supported me by standing on stage on June 8th.

Many people must have combine their strength to have my name appear in the early results.

I’m really grateful to all of you.

I realize it will probably be very hard

Good evening.

I saw my name in the General Elections early results.

I’m extremely happy!

This ranking, as well as simply finding my own name, were really like a dream.

5051 votes in just one day.

I’m deeply moved.

I could once more feel by how much love I was surrounding and presented with.

But I can’t let my emotions take the best of me now.

I’m very happy many SKE members’ names appeared in the early results, but I also felt slightly bitter you know…

I’m surprised myself at my own reaction….

But it doesn’t change the fact that I’m so very glad that my name appeared!

I’m sorry, for being this way. (laugh)

I won’t give up.

Umemoto Madoka (Early results : 21st)

21st ☆

Today early results were going to be announced, I was so nervous I couldn’t stay still and had to make myself busy if I didn’t want to think too much about it and let anxiety win over me.

I had kept in my chest those words I had received during HS event, on G+ comments or in letters 「At the very least I’ll do all I can to have your name appear in the early results」. And when I checked said results, 21st.

“I want your name to appear in the early results!!”, “I want you to stand on stage that day!”, guided by those feelings 6055 ballots were cast in my favor today.

I’m really happy you you all poured your feeling in each and every of those ballots.

Thank you so much to everyone of you who voted (´；ω；｀)゜+。

But, those are just the early results.

To compare it to F1, selections just ended. The real race is starting now.

In the GP of Spain Alonso started from the 5th position but won the race.

Thanks to everyone Madoka is starting the competition with a favorable 21st position but she has comrade ahead of her.

Madoka won’t hide she is aiming higher and she will let it be known!

I also want to say how incredibly happy I am lots of members from SKE and from team E ranked today.

My mind is still blank (>_<)

But I’m glad this wasn’t a dream.

I can’t think of any other word than “thank you” to express my gratitude to everyone (;_;)

But at the same time I feel like “thank you” is way too light to express my feelings.

Today I was so so happy

Has Rena-chan ever stated that she would like to become AKB's center?

Only when referring to elections results to my knowledge. In her speech during the 1st elections she said she wanted to be n°1 someday, hence taking center. When she reached 11th in the 2nd elections she said she hoped to become someone appreciated by others as worth reaching number one. In 2011 (after Touhouku earthquake), she expressed her will to make others smile, even if just one more person.

Only this year did she say she wanted get as close as possible from center. Become center even.

But there is a difference between her “center” and Jurina’s one for example. Rena wants to reach n°1 in elections and take center for the elections single (all 48 members running in the elections aim for it, right?), when Ju is candidate to be AKB48 (not all 48, just AKB) center and she wants it. Of course she also wants to be n°1 in elections but more globally she wants to center AKB48 around the year. Which isn’t something Rena ever expressed the will to do as far as I know.

Now my 2 cts, but busy as they are with SKE and their solo works (especially Rena now but it will come for Ju and she also as school), it seems impossible for me to combine the two. So it may explain why Rena never expressed that will? Plus she was never pushed by management that way and it would have probably displeased/worried SKE fans ^^”.

Oh, she also often said SKE had to catch up with AKB (if not pass ahead of them), so carrying that dream, why would she want to be AKB center? *ahahahah*

Does the statement "Rainbows are straighter than me" also apply to the frog?

Are you a lovely young lady willing to treat the frog to expensive wota trips where we would : go watch SKE stages, fight against all odds to get live tickets, clean out SKE shop and get some lovely (gekikara) meals?

Let’s sing about SKE and AKB differences

Kitahara Rie in concurrent position in AKB48 and SKE48 and who made her debut in SKE48 theater on February 20th. Nakanishi Yuka who transferred from AKB48 to SKE48. The two friends who lived under the same roof as KKS tell us about the “differences” between the two groups.

Difference n°1 - SKE48 has shoyou traits and AKB48 sauce traits*?!
(*tln : しょうゆ顔/shoyou kao refers to a type a face typically Japanese, very close to Japanese traditional standards ソース顔/sauce kao basically looking very non-Japanese)

Kitahara - The very first thing I felt when the concurrent position became effective was 「My face is out of place!」.

Nakanishi - What do you mean?

Kitahara - That’s the impression I got during my first photo shooting with SKE48. It’s hard to put into words. Maybe it has to do with the make-up… Everybody felt very fresh.

Nakanishi - Ahahah. There is nothing to worry about. And if you do, I should remind you I’m already 24.

Kitahara - True. But once I posed with Kizaki Yuria-chan and Yagami Kumi-chan and there I couldn’t avoid to feel it～ I couldn’t fight it, those two are so young and so cute it’s unfair.

Nakanishi - But see, both of us have already been active for over 5 years now.

Kitahara - I wonder if it shows on my face that I originate from the region… (tln : alt “I hope I inherited Aishi’s traits”)

Nakanishi - SKE48 has shoyou traits and AKB48-san have sauce traits (laugh).

Kitahara - But maybe it’s better if I look out of place. There would be no meaning in the kennin system if I were absolutely identical to everyone.

Difference n°2 - AKB48’s crafty dance vs SKE48 display of energy

Kitahara - There is a difference in our choreographies too. The first SKE48 song I had to learn was 「Nakama no Uta」and I couldn’t memorize it at all.

Nakanishi - This song isn’t so complicated, so how comes?

Kitahara - I think that’s because there were moves I never used in AKB48.

Nakanishi - Now that you point it out, it’s true that our moves give out a different feeling. AKB48-san tends to emphasize more the technical aspect of their dances while SKE48 displays more power. Our moves are thought to let out our energy more effectively.

Kitahara - After doing so many years of dance, difference in style must have been important for me to struggle so much to remember just one song. We share some of our dance teachers but our dance styles are still apart. It’s Makino Anna-sensei, who is also works with AKB48, who decided on 「Pareo wa Emerald」choreography, right? It only took me 20 minutes to remember it.

Nakanishi - Fast! (laugh)

Difference n°3 - SKE48 power of unity and AKB48 individual charms

Kitahara - There is one more thing I realized concerning SKE48’s dance. I had the occasion to come and watch a stage performance from a normal guest seat and I was amazed by how uniform and in synch members were, it was true collective piece of art.

Nakanishi - We pay great attention to it. But there is maybe also a bit of the fact that we have been performing 「Seifuku no Me」for over 3 years now (laugh).

Kitahara - I had countless occasions to watch AKB48 perform from the wing of the stage, there my eyes are always dragged to particular members. Like「Ouah, Wasamin (Iwasa Misaki) is seriously cute」or「(Yamauchi) Suzuran is on a fishing spree」(laugh).

Nakanishi - In SKE48 once you aren’t under the care of your sempai anymore, Kuwabara Mizuki and (Matsui) Jurina essentially, you have to nurture your talent and up your game on your own. Because once kenkyusei join our stages, you can be sure Mizuki-san will severely point at every of their mistakes (laugh).

Kitahara - In AKB48 Team K (Oshima) Yuko-chan is the one putting our performances together 「We aren’t in synch there, let’s go for another round of practice.」, so I think we all share the same feelings, in AKB and SKE, when it comes to stages.

Difference n°4 - SKE48’s low heels to facilitate dancing!

Nakanishi - When I look at AKB48, I think they are real idols.

Kitahara - Really? For me SKE48 is closer of what idols should be about.

Nakanishi - Eh? When there is absolutely nothing idolish about us (laugh).

Kitahara - Somehow, I’ve lost track of what defined an idol (laugh). Of course it makes me very happy to be called national idols (tln:国民的アイドル/kokumin-teki idol) but…

Nakanishi - But the power of expression of AKB48 members during performances shows how they really are idols no?

Kitahara - Sure. We’re good at presenting ourselves..

Nakanishi - But then in SKE48 we keep dancing without caring about how much of mess our hair is. Our shoes even have low heels to make dancing a bit easier.

Kitahara - That’s because SKE48 is all about

Difference n°5 - The kindness of fans I felt during S stage

Kitahara - And then fans are different too.

Nakanishi - Hmm, that’s one big difference. When it comes to AKB48 you can feel how they’ve touched a broader audience and are known among common people.

Kitahara - It’s clear when I perform in AKB48 theater. It’s very different from when we performed as kenkyusei. Cheers from fans are different.

Nakanishi - I know what you mean!

Kitahara - What really struck me when I performed in S stage for the first time the other day, was the enthusiasm of fans’ calls. Part of me was scared I wouldn’t be welcomed, but soon this 「It’s fun!」feeling took over my nervosity.

Nakanishi - Glad to hear that (laugh).

Kitahara - And how the encore started! It was something like「xx-san, yoroshiku!」. It brought back so many memories it gave me goosebumps!

hey I've been without internet for a few weeks out of town and saw your post were you mentioned Rena getting in trouble for getting abs i was wondering when she posted that since i probably missed that post its kinda surprising she has them before she couldn't even do a sit-up but with the concerts and all the dancing I'msurprised more members don't have them

Rena actually said it in Ou-sama no Branch (TBS) on Feb.16th during ChocoDo promotion.

Members are asked what they have a “special rule” they follow. For Non it’s applying cream on her hands to keep them soft, Manatsu is to never being late (except that day she was! lol) and for Rena it was training every evening by doing seat-ups and lot of other stuff. Problem is she got abs (with the visible line in between) so they told her to stop ( “x-x).

Masana has the most formidable abs of all SKE but it’s not necessarily considered the cutest thing for an idol so most members try to remain fit without getting too muscular. Dancing ensures the girls have strong legs (though Kumin for one had crazily slim ones!) but it doesn’t particularly affect there upper body… You need Rena self imposed military training to get there (*°^°).

Given Friday’s stage is E without Kanon and Nao and that’s when the MV is said to be possibly shot…

Team S : Jurina ; Yuria ; Masana ; Manatsu ; Anna ; (Mikki) ;(Nakanishi)

Team KII : Churi ; Airin ; Akarin ; Oba ; (Matsurina)

Team E : Rena ; Kanon ; Nao ; Nanako ; (Yukko)

KKS : Azumarion

It’s all just speculations but seems plausible. I would be myself a bit disappointed that they didn’t renew senbatsu more this time around. I really want Yukko to be in so it turn out she is I will have a reason to celebrate (Nao is a given lol) but I also really wanted Madoka to be given a new chance and Aya to be rewarded because see (not sure what HS event that was for but numbers speak for themselves) :

She sells better at HS than Manatsu or Airin. Meaning she 1) must be very nice to interact with 2) has a sizable amount of fans and/or 3) her fans are dead serious about supporting her and have done a wonderful job showing it.

Now if those efforts, from her part and her wotas, don’t bring any results… It will be sad and worth worrying. Would mean management doesn’t care about how much you support a member and that there is only with elections that you can truly show your support (which doesn’t help SKE’s sales and is only held once a year anyway).

We should have the answer soon enough anyway…

Of course I would have applause and wish her good luck. I want her to feel at ease with KII members and fans and for things to go smoothly.

I have nothing against her and just like Rie she is one of the few AKB members I think can actually fit in SKE because they are rather “raw” (if not “rough” xD). To put it otherwise, she doesn’t strike me as too “superficial” like some other AKB members so she should adapt rather well to SKE. Plus she is funny. Especially when Paruru mess with her :D.

Now (yes, I always have something to complain about~) I do find it quite hypocrite from management to introduce her like one or two days before (wota speculations) the 12th single MV shooting. It’s like they wanted to have her gain some legitimacy to be in senbatsu when she doesn’t have any. Default senbatsu for kennins is really one thing I can’t make my peace with (especially when girls like Shibata Aya and Madoka are apparently, again, left out (”>__<))

quick moral question. what if rena dyed her hair? (like for drama or something)

Fail to see in what way it’s a “moral question” but to answer you, Rena did dye her hair (or was it a wig?) for the Bee-TV drama Okarie. Though she never performed with that color of hair when with SKE.

Changing of hairstyle for solo work is perfectly fine, and certainly not just for Rena. Let say that the filming had last for several weeks and she couldn’t dye her hair back to black. There would have been a good reason for her to appear with dyed hair for a certain period of time and that wouldn’t have been a problem. If properly explained and again, for work purpose and if she couldn’t do otherwise.

Problem with the current trend of dying is that it’s just members’ whim…
